Chapter · About

One key, everything flows.

We're building Keyfloe because every Mac deserves an assistant that lives behind a single key — not another tab, not another app to remember to open.

Living document

The pitch.

Most AI assistants ask you to leave what you're doing and switch contexts. Open a browser. Click a tab. Paste in your question. Wait. Copy the answer back. That whole detour is the friction we're trying to delete.

Keyfloe puts a small chat pill behind one keyboard key — fn by default. Tap to ask. Hold to dictate. The pill knows what's on your screen, what app you're in, what you were doing five minutes ago. It answers in place.

The people.

Keyfloe is built by Onefloe, a small team obsessed with Mac-native software that respects your time. We come from product, design, and ML backgrounds across San Francisco, London, and Sydney.

The principles.

  1. Local first. Whisper transcription runs on your Mac's Apple Neural Engine. Your voice never leaves the machine unless you choose a cloud model.
  2. Quiet by default. The pill stays hidden until you summon it. No floating widgets, no menu-bar nags, no notification cascade.
  3. One key, every modality. Voice, chat, screen-aware help, background agents, memory — all behind the same gesture.
  4. Beautiful as a benchmark. If a feature ships ugly, it's not done. The Mac sets a high bar; we try to clear it.

The honest part.

Keyfloe is in active development — bugs exist, edges are rough, and not every capability is bulletproof yet. We're shipping fast and iterating in public. If something doesn't work, we want to hear about it directly.
